A Really Fun Day
My most treasured memory is of the
time I took my children to Disney land. We moved to Orange County, California
from Brooklyn, N.Y. when they were four and six years old. Their most favorite
place in the entire world was the giant sized Disney store on forty-second street
in Manhattan. Like many little kids, they loved everything Disney. We owned all
the movies and their rooms were painted with their favorite Disney movie characters.
I remember the day we told them that we were moving to California. For some
reason my daughter, who was the six year old got so excited and screamed out “That’s
where Mickey and Pooh live.” We got the biggest kick out of them telling family
member that they would be living close to Mickey Mouse’s House. We decided that
we would take them to Disney Land the morning after arriving in California. The
kids would not go to sleep the night before going and we could hear them
talking back and forth about who was going to be there when we arrived. They
wanted to go before the sun was even up.
The look on their faces when we got
to Disney Land was worth a million bucks. We played all day and I must admit
that I was enjoying it just as much as they were. I had never seen my children so happy they
were smiling the whole time we were there. We must have walked the entire
amusement park a dozen times searching for all their favorite characters. We
were there from open to close that day. I am so happy that I was able to
provide them with a family memory that will stay with them for years to come.
This was one of the greatest times I ever had and I am blessed to have had it
with my family.
